I cannot believe that 2010 will be leaving us in just a few hours. It seems like just yesterday we were ringing in 2010 down on the Gulf Coast. I have been extremely busy lately so I have not been blogging. So much going on...lets just say that with work and school and life things are crazy!!! Since my last post, we took two weekend trips to see the <a href="http://www.davematthewsband.com/">Dave Matthews Band</a>. That is always a good time and we always meet new friends. We are gearing up for both of our teams bowl games tomorrow...of course I will be cheering for <a href="http://www.mstateathletics.com/liveEvents/liveEvents.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=16800">Mississippi State in the Gator Bowl</a> in one room while Greg cheers for <a href="http://www.rolltide.com/">Bama in the Capital One Bowl</a> in another room. Atleast we are both getting to watch our team in a bowl game!=) My baby sister got engaged and graduated from Occupational Therapy School! I am so excited for her and so proud of her!!! No major changes with work this year...just busy! We were able to help welcome several friend's children into the world. Always such a miracle! God has not yet decided that it is time for us to be parents but we pray every single day that it will happen. We both have lots of hope for 2011. I hope is well with all of you and hope to get a chance to see each and every one of you in 2011. <span style="font-size: large;">HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!</span></span>the isbellshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05513594627535312187noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2014590151532814421.post-79525415649541289802010-05-08T15:50:00.000-07:002010-05-08T15:50:19.627-07:00Trip to Charlotte NC<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.cmbg.org/2010info/images/Charlotte.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="235" src="http://www.cmbg.org/2010info/images/Charlotte.jpg" tt="true" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Greg and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary last month in Charlotte, NC. We had requested time off from work but could not decide on a destination. At the beginning of our vacation Greg drove to Birmingham and then over to Tuscaloosa for the A Day Game and my sister and I went to Starkville to see the family. Greg and I finally decided to drive over to <a href="http://www.charlottesgotalot.com/">Charlotte, NC</a>. The drive over was interesting given that I 40 was closed secondary to a <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVYGJYnJTi0&feature=related">rockslide</a> last fall (of course it opened just a few days after we got home). </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">We stayed a few miles from downtown Charlotte. I will say that next time we will definitely stay downtown...just so much activity. The first night we were there we went to dinner at <a href="http://www.soulgastrolounge.com/">Soul Gastrolounge</a>. It was a neat tapas bar with a good atmosphere. The next day was our anniversary. We ate lunch at <a href="http://www.eatatdish.com/">Dish</a>. The fried green tomatoes were great! Greg found this restaurant on <a href="http://www.foodnetwork.com/shows/guys-diners-drive-ins-and-dives/index.html">Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives</a>. It was fun and the weather was so nice we were able to dine on the patio. After lunch we walked around and shopped a little too. We dined at <a href="http://www.charlottefigtree.com/lucashouse.htm">Fig Tree Restaurant</a> for our anniversary dinner celebration. Another great meal with fabulous service. On our last day we took the train to downtown Charlotte. We walked around and enjoyed the views of a new city. <a href="http://www.nixburgers.com/">Nix Burgers & Brews</a> was our choice for lunch. Greg and I checked out various scenes and walked around some of the different areas. We had a glass of wine at <a href="http://www.bentleyson27.com/">Bentley's on 27th</a> which was on the 27th floor of a building...spectacular views. Charlotte hosts <a href="http://www.aliveafterfives.com/">Alive After 5</a> every Thursday night during the spring and summer. It was a lot of fun. Hot Sauce, a cover band, was playing and it was a great people watching opportunity. We shut the night down with dinner on the deck of <a href="http://www.rira.com/">Ri Ra Irish Pub</a>. Charlotte was a fun city to visit and I would recommend that you check it out. We are back at home and back at work...next stop will be in June to see the <a href="http://www.davematthewsband.com/">Dave Matthews Band</a>.</div>the isbellshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05513594627535312187noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2014590151532814421.post-38982364140484767932010-05-02T16:25:00.000-07:002010-05-02T16:49:33.727-07:00Rain Rain Go AwayOh my goodness...will the rain ever stop? Middle Tennessee has been pounded with rain for the last couple of days. It seems like forever! Greg had to go help some friends place sandbags in their yard to try and prevent water from settling in the crawl space of their house. Another friend sent me this picture of the street in front of their house.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgo165MZjEIfCXo0RGuhFpLrVAYhyWxqdoAwg3-JkZmKthGPzoDYk3WHZHdPfKEb2AVev8nxfQy3OkdmUd663DA79_vGH4LEbMTE5KpGnT2zTAhX3KkjwTTyOgMvo9ktsCWZIIxC-Nh4QD4/s1600/jess'+house.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgo165MZjEIfCXo0RGuhFpLrVAYhyWxqdoAwg3-JkZmKthGPzoDYk3WHZHdPfKEb2AVev8nxfQy3OkdmUd663DA79_vGH4LEbMTE5KpGnT2zTAhX3KkjwTTyOgMvo9ktsCWZIIxC-Nh4QD4/s320/jess'+house.jpg" tt="true" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">She did say things are better however it has continued to rain all day today. This is in Spring Hill which is about 30 miles south of Nashville. Nashville has had significant damage as has many of the other surrounding areas. Interstates are closed, bridges are collapsing, people drowning...Such a sad situation. A friend informed me earlier that her parent's basement has flooded (Lexington, KY). Please pray for Middle Tennessee and all of the other areas impacted by this horrible weather. </div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I thought that I would share a few pictures/videos of situations encountered in the area.</div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5gYhLKwSp4">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5gYhLKwSp4</a></div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

It often "feels" like everyone around us has everything that we want and we are constantly asking God "when". And as this poem points out, his response is "wait". "Wait" can be such a hard answer to hear. There are so many things that we all want, and we should all probably do a better job of enjoying the wonderful things in life God has blessed us with while we wait. Thanks LT for sharing this poem! I hope you don't mind that I am passing it along for more people to read and reflect.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="color: #6aa84f;"> Wait<span id="goog_1612969853"></span><span id="goog_1612969854"></span></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">Desperately, helplessly, </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">longingly, I cried:</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">Quietly, patiently, lovingly,</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"></span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">God replied.</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">I plead and I wept </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">for a clue to my fate,</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">And the Master so gently said,</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">“Child, you must wait.”</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">“Wait? You say, wait!” </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">my indignant reply.</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">“Lord, I need answers, </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">I need to know why!</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">Is Your hand shortened? </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">Or have You not heart?</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">By faith, I have asked, </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">and am claiming Your Word.”</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">My future and all </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">to which I can relate</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">Hangs in the balance, </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">and YOU tell me to WAIT?</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">I’m needing a “Yes”, </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">a go-ahead sign,</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">Or even a “No”</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">to which I can resign.</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">And Lord, You promised </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">that if we believe</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">We need but to ask, </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">and we shall receive.</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">And Lord, I’ve been asking, </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">and this is my cry:</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">“I’m weary of asking! </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">I need a reply!”</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">Then quietly, softly, </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">I learned of my fate</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">As my Master replied once again,</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">“You must wait.”</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">So, I slumped in my chair, </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">defeated and taught</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">And grumbled to God, </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">“So, I’m waiting … for what?”</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">He seemed, then, to kneel</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">And His eyes wept with mine,</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">And He tenderly said, </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">“I could give you a sign.”</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">I could shake the heavens,</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">and darken the sun.</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">I could raise the dead </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">and cause mountains to run.</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">All you seek, I could give, </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">and pleased you would be.</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">You would have what you want~</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">But, you wouldn’t know Me.</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">You’d not know the depth </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">of My love for each saint;</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">You’d not know the power </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">I give to the faint;</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">You’d not learn to see </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">through the clouds of despair;</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">You’d not learn to trust </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">just by knowing I’m there;</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">You’d not know the joy </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">of resting in Me;</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">When darkness and silence </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">were all you could see.</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">You’d never experience </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">that fullness of love</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">As the peace of My Spirit </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">descends like a dove;</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">You’d know that I give and save, </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">for a start,</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">But you’d not know the depth </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">of the beat of My heart.</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">The glow of My comfort </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">late into the night,</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">The faith that I give </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">when you walk without sight,</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">The depth that’s beyond </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">getting just what you asked</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">Of an infinite God, </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">who makes what you have last.</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">You’d never know, </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">should your pain quickly flee,</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">What it means that, </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">“My grace is sufficient for thee.”</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">Yes, your dreams for your loved one</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">Overnight would come true,</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">But, Oh, the Loss! </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">If I lost what I’m doing in you!</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">So, be silent, My child, </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">and in time you will see</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">That the greatest of gifts </span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">is to get to know Me.</span><span style="color: #6aa84f;"><br />

Well with all that is pending with fertility, etc., we have now decided to stay close to home. With that said, I am headed to Starkville for Super Bulldog Weekend and time with family and friends!=) Greg is going to hang out with his mother in Birmingham for a few days. The problem is what to do from there...we have thought about heading down to the Gulf Coast for a few days; New Orleans (until we discovered that Jazz Fest is that weekend and there are NO rooms); and then there is just heading home and working around the house. I am torn in different directions...a part of me wants to go somewhere away from home and home and another part of me knows that we have trips approaching this summer and we should be responsible. What to do?the isbellshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05513594627535312187noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2014590151532814421.post-32997948705623407722010-04-11T14:21:00.000-07:002010-04-11T14:21:30.597-07:00A Beginner BloggerI have been thinking about blogging for a while...here I am. I was sitting around this weekend while my husband was glued to the television (The Master's) and decided to give it a try. I would greatly appreciate any advice, suggestions, websites, etc. Several of my friends have blogs that are adorable. Hopefully we will be blessed with children at some point and I can add their pictures, activities...the isbellshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05513594627535312187noreply@blogger.com0
